Your privacy

Asking for help takes trust. Here's how we look after what you share with us.

What we collect

Only what you type into our forms: help requests, volunteer applications, event sign-ups, feedback and, if you sign up for news, your email address. You don't have to give your name to ask for help.

We also count visits to this website, with no cookies and without saving your name, internet address or device details. We keep only totals, such as how many people visited each day.

Who can see it

Help requests are seen only by NMOI outreach staff in your city, who use them to find and help you. Feedback about volunteers is read only by NMOI leadership. Every access is logged.

How we protect it

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Our staff use strong passwords and two-step sign-in, and are trained in privacy (HIPAA). If you become a patient or client, your health information is protected by federal privacy law.

What we never do

We never sell, rent or share your information for marketing. We don't share it with police or immigration authorities. The only exceptions are a court order or a law that requires it, or when someone's life is in immediate danger. We never publish anything that could identify the people we serve.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete what you sent us, or to stop hearing from us. Email maslaha@natmoi.org or use the privacy request form. Read the client privacy notice.
